Christmas Holiday 2010

What a crazy month. J.R. had so many parties and fun activities with his friends. We went to Opportunity Village to the Santa Village with Audrey. We enjoyed the lights and rides. Here are a few pictures of us having fun!

Driving a Firetruck!

We couldn't go without hockey this month. We went to a few games. This was one on a Sunday, instead of a nap we went to the game!

J.R. had so much fun Christmas morning opening gifts. He loves to tear open packages! One of his favorite presents that he plays for 30 minutes at a time was his air hockey game that his Auntie Lori gave him. Here's a picture of J.R. and his dad playing.

We played all day and had a hard day of partying. Here's a picutre from the end of the day.

The next day J.R. was antsy in the pantsy by the end of the day and kept asking to, "Go"! So J.R. and I got in the car and drove around to see Christmas lights! Here's a picture of J.R. in his car seat looking for lights.

Merry Christmas! We were lucky enough to have grandma and grandpa Egly come visit for Christmas.

Family Jewels!

Not feeling to good at the hockey game!

We had a fun filled weekend! It started out shaky. We were on on way to the hockey game and J.R. up-chucked (Thank you grandma for that word!) in the parking lot walking into the game. J.R. must have felt better after that because he still wanted to go to the hockey game and refused to go home. I was chanting to myself, "we are not bad parents" all the way into the arena. My grandpa who's a physician said as long as he doesn't have a fever and wanted to go we might as well! So we bought a "DUKE" puck and kept the bag in case of any up-chuck and sat in a section where there was not another soul! You can't tell by this picture but by the end of the game he was jumping up and down in his seat cheering! I guess he had the 5 hour flu???

The rest of the weekend was spent playing with everyone at the house. Uncle Scott and Sandi came to visit for the weekend.  The next group of pictures need no explaining.....

This last picture I'm posting I can't resist sharing, We were at J.R.'s daycare Christmas party last night and we had so much fun! He played with all his friends and cried when he had to sit close to Santa, oh well, maybe next year! This picture was taken after chasing Dustin (my daycare provider's son) around the house for what seemed like hours. It was so sweet to see J.R. play.

Potty, "Oh Man" and "No Way"

The Zaino family spent Thanksgiving in AZ with Nana, Papa Egly and Uncle Scott. We had some fun and fantastic "firsts" during our visit!

The potty: Saturday night after Thanksgiving J.R. said he had to pee pee. I put him on the toilet and what do you know he pooped! We had our first poop in the toilet! I never thought I'd be SO excited. We had a party celebration for J.R. that night and he kept going back to the "potty" every few minutes. BTW, he LOVES to flush the toilet.

J.R. likes to mimic people, especially his daddy. While we were in Arizona J.R. saw his dad hit the floor with his hand and yell, "Oh man" while watching football. What do you know, J.R. follows doing the same thing, he was SO dramatic and everyone cracked up. All that J.R. needed was a laugh and now this is in his repertoire along with saying, "no way".

Fun pictures from Thanksgiving in Arizona!

Playing golf on Thanksgiving.

Playing hide and seek with Papa.

Listening to dad's IPod.

Reading the paper. Believe it or not the story was about hockey!

Sports Sports Anything related so Sports!

So my little guy LOVES sports and anything related to sports!

His favorite sport by far is hockey. Tony swears he did not push hockey but J.R. just naturally fell in LOVE with hockey. J.R. has the full garb; helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, shin guards, sticks, gloves and skates! Tony has a theory that J.R. may enjoy putting the equipment on a little more than actually playing hockey. When I pick J.R. up from his daycare he runs out of daycare yelling," hockey now, hockey now." I put him in his car seat, he watches hockey in the car then when he gets home he runs up to his dad yelling, "hockey now, hockey now daddy".  J.R. will play hockey until he drops. He wakes up asking for hockey and goes to bed asking for hockey. This little guy can't get enough. When he first started playing hockey he wore his dad's hockey helmet for a week straight!

The other night we were very surprised when he took a liking to basketball. He played for about 30 minutes. When he makes a basket he lifts his arms in the air and yells, "Two Points"! He also likes to yell out what he's doing, as he tries to make a basket he'll say dunk or jump shot. Sometimes his jump shot ends up behind him but it's the effort that counts right?

Last night he actually sat down to watch the Bears game with his dad. Tony told him it was the Chicago Bears. J.R. then proceeded to yell, "Chicago Bears" over and over again. He wanted to call his Papa in Chicago so we called and the only thing J.R. would say was, "Chicago Bears Papa, Chicago Bears Papa". J.R. likes to play with his Hooters football. He sticks both arms straight out and shuts his eyes as you throw the football to him. J.R. is crazy about his daddy. He doesn't want his daddy to sit down, he always wants his daddy to run around and play. The picture of the both of them sitting is rare!

His first favorite sport was baseball a few months ago. He has a tee, glove, bat and ball. He likes to hit the ball off the tee and better yet he'll go fetch the ball and put it back on the tee himself! Tony throws J.R. grounders but J.R. has yet to figure out he can stop the ball with his glove, he tries to use his hands!

So far that covers what my little guy is interested in... sports, sports and more sports!

The beginning of the Zaino Family Blog

It's 7:23am on November 17th, 2010 and this is my first attempt at our blog. I feel like I need to post a picture of the reason why I'm starting this blog.

This little guy is 1 year, 22 months, 11 days and 17 hours old... J.R. Zaino! Currently, he is sleeping in as you can see, since we changed his bedtime from 7pm to 8pm he tends to sleep in until 8am now.

I feel like time flies and I've already forgotten some of the most precious moments of this little guys life. This blog will help me keep track of our family so the special moments won't be a forgotten memory. Maybe one day long from now this little guy will appreciate reading a post from his past when he's much older of course! We love this little guy so and had no idea when we first brought him home all the joy and fun he would bring into our lives. He made our house a home and made our family real!
