Quick post..
This morning on the way to daycare J.R. said, "Mama, you're driving too fast, slow down." I was going 35 MPH!

Mommy and J.R. weekend!
We went to the toy store over the weekend. I had to buy some more Wiggles (J.R.'s FAVORITE) dvd's for the plane ride to Iowa. As we were walking out of the store J.R. spots this motorcycle on clearance and it's half price. J.R. hops on it right away and starts making the vroom vroom sounds. Needless to say he persuaded me. As we were pulling out of our driveway to head to the toy store J.R. said to me, "Can I ride in daddy's Porsche car, I beg please." That's a first, "I beg please" no clue where he picked that one up.
J.R. is still doing the wet willy thing but now he says he has something to tell you and he motions with his finger for you to bend down to listen, then he gets you.
We're getting ready for our big cross country trip on Thursday to Iowa. It will be short, we'll be back late Sunday just in time for J.R. to start his new school Monday.

Bad mama!
I took J.R. to the park after I picked him up from daycare yesterday. We found this new park with really nice slide features. There were ALOT of kids there so many that for the first 20 minutes J.R. stood there and just watched the kids play. Some of the kids were older and in the distance I could hear bad language so I eventually got J.R. out of there.
As we are driving home a car cuts me off causing me to swerve and before I know it the word "dick wad" comes out of my mouth. Right away J.R. says, "Mama, why is he a dick?" I told J.R. that he almost hit us with his car and mama said a bad word that no one should ever say. J.R. said, "Oh, our car almost ran over his car.... dick". I had to stop myself from laughing so he couldn't see.
Pretty ironic that I take him away from a fabulous playground and I am the one who's responsible for J.R.'s first bad word. Bad mama!
BTW, another saying that J.R. has been saying for a month or so that I find cute, "I help me" which means I can do it myself or "you help me" which means can you help me? He's been saying thank you and please all the time, that is really nice to see!

Funny little guy!
J.R. is a riot. I have to post a conversation we had this morning.
This morning after waking J.R. up at 8:30am (yeah he likes to sleep like his daddy.) I'm changing his diaper and Toots, our dog walks into the room. J.R. is listing everyone that he loves and I ask him if he loves Toots. He responds, "No, I don't love Toots, her breath stinks!" I was cracking up all morning thinking about our conversation.

Busy weekend!
This weekend we had lots of fun like normal. Saturday we went to the zoo with Sandi, Audrey and Kendra. The kids had so much fun. This wasn't a "normal" zoo, this was an exotic animal rescue that turned into a zoo. The two owners are married and both veterinarians. They had lots of animals walking around on their own and leashes, monkeys, turtles, pigs and lots of other animals I can not name! It was amazing, we saw a baby kangaroo in it's mama's pouch. J.R. and Audrey enjoyed every minute of it!
Today we started the day at the ice rink at 9am. It was stick and puck for 12 and under. J.R. and Tony were the only two on the ice for the first 30 minutes, then a little 4 year old boy came to play. It was so adorable, the 4 year old was mentoring J.R. The grandmother took a picture of the two and said, you never know they could end up playing on the same team one day! Could you imagine? By the way, J.R. no longer needs the "walker" to help him skate!
After hockey we went home grabbed some lunch and headed to a birthday party. It was crazy windy so we had to leave early. Today, we fit in a 3 hour nap. I had to wake J.R. up at 5pm so we could go to the Mini Grand Prix. J.R. rides with Tony in his car and he LOVES it. He kept saying I'm going bump you (in his car with Tony) and yes, they bumped everyone. Tony even got the whistle once because he was bumping..... J.R. loved it!
J.R. is so quick whited, his little mind is working overtime. He's such a mimic and wants to do everything he sees. He's crazy about gum right now. I can not chew gum around him because he wants some. He constantly wants to see it and eat it!
We are looking forward to a good week this week. Tony is heading to AZ to drive my grandpa to Iowa on Sunday. They should have a fun time driving across country.

Priceless!
Just a few things to post tonight.
Here's just a few new sayings of the day from our Mister J.R. Zaino:
"Whatcha doing?" (I'm hearing this about every minute.)
"I love you lots." (This makes my heart sing.)
"Right Mama" (When he wants confirmation if he can do something he says this... I won't be hearing this much longer I'm sure!)
Last night J.R. was a tiger, not a very nice boy so when he asked Tony and I if he could lay down in daddy's bed (notice it's not mama's bed), Tony said, "No, you were a bad boy tonight." J.R. looked at me with astonishment and responded, "Daddy said no to me?" J.R. waited a few seconds then whispered to me, "You ask if I can lay down in daddy's bed". I told him he had to and J.R. said no you ask for me. I cracked up.. this kid already knows the definition of manipulation. We were bad parents last night, we gave in.... we let J.R. watch one Wiggles episode in our bed.
Tonight, the three of us were laying in "daddy's" bed before J.R.'s bedtime watching sports center. Tony thought he'd have some fun and he gave J.R. a wet willey.... well that was it... game on! For 20 minutes we all laughed and cracked up while J.R. tried to give us wet willey's. This was hysterical we all laughed so hard. I put J.R. in his crib tonight as I was walking out he was giving Elmo a wet willy.
I love this kid!

Mother's Day
This was my first Mother's Day without my grandmother, my mother for the last 25 years. It was a really sad day but like always J.R. brought so much fun and happiness to the day.
J.R. and I flew to AZ to spend a long weekend with grandpa. We didn't want him to be by himself on Mother's day! We went to so many places during our short visit. We went to the wildlife museum the first day. It was amazing so many animals I've never seen before. That night, J.R. asked me if the bear was going to get him. I said no way, he lives way way far away. The entire weekend J.R. was telling everyone, "the bear lives way way far away, he won't get me". The second day we went to the children's museum. J.R. loved this place so many fun things for him to do. The last day, Mother's Day, we went to the zoo. What fun! J.R.'s favorite was the monkeys and bugs!
I was so happy we could spend the first Mother's Day without grandma with grandpa. I love you grandma and grandpa. I know you miss grandma so much. I see you doing things in "her honor". I've noticed you have changed your seat at the kitchen table to hers. I noticed you cook like she does and make an entire 5 course meal. I notice you sleep on her side of the bed. I notice all the pictures of her and you both around the house. We love you so much grandpa and we can only imagine how much you miss your wife. One thing I know for sure, our little boy, J.R. brings a smile to your face and a light in your heart. He's the best medicine anyone could ask for....
It's been so long since I've posted anything.. here are some pictures over the last month...
